Account Deletion for Trap.NZ
If you would like to delete your Trap.NZ account, please follow these steps:
How to Request Account Deletion
- Send a support ticket
- Include "Account Deletion Request" in the subject line
- Confirm your identity when we reply (for security purposes, we may ask verification questions)
- Your account will be permanently deleted once your identity is confirmed
Important: For security and privacy reasons, deletion requests must come from the email address associated with your Trap.NZ account.
What Data Is Deleted
When your account is deleted, the following personal data is permanently removed:
- Your account credentials and login information
- Your personal profile information (name, email, contact details)
- Your user preferences and settings
What Data Is Retained
To maintain the integrity of shared conservation projects and comply with our data obligations, the following data is retained:
- Trap records, catch data, and installation information you contributed to shared projects (this data becomes anonymous and remains associated with the project)
- Aggregated, de-identified data used for conservation reporting and analysis
After deletion, your Trap.NZ account will no longer be accessible and cannot be recovered.
